Highland Soccer Systems

ahhhh, Fridays – the end of the work week, the beginning of the weekend, the “shoulder-season” between “have to” and “want to”.  As a kid, I loved Fridays for so many reasons, but mostly because I knew I didn’t have school the next day.  My parents would often go on a date, and my sister and I would get to eat pizza and play until the street lights came on, with no concern for homework or having to get up the next day for anything more than Saturday morning cartoons.  As we got older, being from the Midwest, we (and 10,000 of our closest friends) would head to the high school to watch football with my folks under the lights.  At some point that story line became a movie and TV show, but that day never lost it’s prestige among all the other days of the week – at least for me!

Now as a grown-up, I want to offer something local, something fun – something for kids to look forward to on their end-of-the-week schedule.  It’s so important for me that that not be “another training session” or “another practice” — I want it to be the thing that they look forward to and that hearkens back to my days of running around the neighborhood until the street lights came on.  Thus the birth of “Friday Night Lights” which has been a wildly successful opportunity for kids to “just play” soccer most Fridays of the winter.

In an effort to continue to provide fun, educational, fun, competitive, fun opportunities for young soccer players in the greater Valley area, Highland Soccer Systems has expanded our Friday offerings into the Fall for 2019!  I’m proud to introduce “The Friday School of Tricks, Flicks & Skills” – the perfect complement to any soccer player’s plans.  Additional time on the ball if you are already playing in the fall, something to whet your appetite for Friday Night Lights, or maybe just one more “chance to play”.  Come check it out at Mad River Park this September!!
